Change the skill
Section titled “Change the skill”-
Fork the repo, or clone your own copy.
-
Edit the files in
scripter/skills/scripter/. -
Run the build script. It works in Windows PowerShell 5.1 and in PowerShell 7 on any OS:
Terminal window ./build.ps1 # check the files and rebuild dist/scripter.zip./build.ps1 -Install # also copy the skill to ~/.claude/skills/scripterIt checks that
SKILL.mdhas valid frontmatter, that the description is at most 200 characters, that every referenced checklist exists, and thatchatgpt/instructions.txtfits ChatGPT’s 8,000-character limit. If theclaudeCLI is installed, it also validates the plugin and marketplace manifests. -
Re-upload
dist/scripter.zipwherever you use it. For a Custom GPT, updatechatgpt/instructions.txttoo, paste it in again, and re-upload any changed checklists.
Run the tests
Section titled “Run the tests”cd scripterclaude plugin eval . --runs 1 --model sonnet --no-publishEach case in scripter/evals/<case>/ has a prompt.md and a graders/ folder. A grader is a regex check, a tool-use check or an AI-judged rubric. Results land in scripter/evals/results/. The tests use your Claude plan’s allowance, so start with --runs 1.
Work on this website
Section titled “Work on this website”The site is built with Astro Starlight and lives in site/. You need Node.js 22.12 or newer.
cd sitenpm installnpm run devThe checklist pages, the full skill text, the test results and the downloads are copied from the skill by site/scripts/sync-skill.mjs every time you run dev or build. Edit the originals in scripter/, dist/ or chatgpt/, not the copies. Everything else is Markdown in site/src/content/docs/.
Every push to main rebuilds the site and publishes it to GitHub Pages through .github/workflows/deploy-site.yml.
